Free hat knitting pattern for your head and your yarn
A hat should be a little smaller than the head so it stays on. Enter your head circumference and gauge and the builder works out the cast-on and writes the crown round by round. The hat is free, always — no sign-up.
Cast-on and fit
For a 56 cm head with standard negative ease you get 120 sts — a multiple of 8, so the crown divides into eight even wedges.
