German short rows
Back raise, shoulder slope without steps, smooth curves.
How to do it
- Work to the turning point and turn the work.
- With yarn in front, slip the first stitch purlwise.
- Pull the yarn up and over the needle to the back: the stitch becomes a double stitch (DS) with two legs on the needle.
- Work back the other way. When you reach the double stitch, work both legs together as one.
Tip
There are no holes if you pull the yarn firmly enough.
Common mistake
Counting a double stitch as two throws off the stitch count.
