Swatch and gauge
Before every project. All the math depends on gauge.
How to do it
- Knit a swatch at least 15×15 cm with the same needles and stitch pattern as the project.
- Wash and dry it the same way as the finished piece.
- Count the stitches and rows over 10 cm in the center (or over any length: the pattern builder will recalculate).
- Enter these numbers in the pattern builder.
Tip
A difference of half a stitch per 10 cm on a 100 cm sweater adds up to ±2–3 cm in circumference.
