Stepped bind-off (shoulder slope)

Shoulder slope, sleeve cap, armhole.

slope lineneck ← shoulder → armhole
Stepped bind-off for the slope: at the beginning of rows on the armhole side, bind off groups of stitches (e.g. 7-7-6-6). It makes a staircase that evens out when seamed. Simpler than short rows

How to do it

  1. At the beginning of the row at the armhole edge, bind off the first group of stitches.
  2. Work to the end of the row and back.
  3. Again at the beginning of the row at the armhole edge, bind off the next group.
  4. The pattern builder calculates the groups and rows.

Tip

To smooth out the step: slip the first stitch of each group (except the first) without working it.
