Raglan lines (after the marker), sleeve increases, waist shaping.

1. Between the last stitch on the right needle and the first on the left is a horizontal strand: the bar. Lift it with the left needle FROM FRONT TO BACK
left needleright needleback loop
2. The bar sits on the left needle like a new stitch. Knit it THROUGH THE BACK LOOP: it twists and leaves no hole
3. The new stitch leans left. Work it after the marker (M1L); paired with M1R it gives a symmetrical raglan line

How to do it

  1. Find the bar: the horizontal strand between the stitch you just worked and the next one.
  2. With the left needle, lift it from front to back.
  3. Knit it tbl (the stitch twists, so there is no hole).

Tip

Paired with M1R on either side of the marker, it gives a symmetrical V along the raglan line.

Common mistake

Knitting it through the front loop leaves a little hole.
