Double-layer neckband

A neat, firm edge for a neckline or band.

Double-layer neckband: 1×1 rib twice as tall, folded inside and sewn down with live stitches: a soft, firm and neat edge

How to do it

Pick up stitches and work 1×1 rib twice as tall as the finished edge should be.
Do not bind off: fold the strip to the inside.
Sew each live stitch with a tapestry needle to the matching stitch of the pick-up line.

Tip

Sew loosely, or the neckline will lose its stretch.
