Lively Loop

Turtleneck

A tall fold-over collar, 18–22 cm.

fold line
Turtleneck: 18–22 cm of ribbing, folded in half. Knit the upper half on larger needles so the fold lies loosely

How to do it

  1. Pick up stitches around the crew neckline.
  2. First half of the height: ribbing on the main needles.
  3. Second half: needles 0.5 mm larger, so the fold-over lies loosely.
  4. Use a very stretchy bind-off: the neckline must go over the head.

Tip

For a top-down raglan, the turtleneck is knit first: cast-on → neck → yoke.
