Three-stitch cable with a centre purl
The two knit stitches swap places while the purl stays between them — a small raised “chain”.
How to do it
- Slip the 1st stitch to a cable needle and hold it in front.
- Slip the 2nd stitch to a second cable needle and hold it at the back.
- Knit the 3rd stitch.
- Purl the stitch from the back cable needle.
- Knit the stitch from the front cable needle.
Tip
Two bobby pins or locking stitch markers are handy instead of two cable needles.
The stitch count stays the same.
